Disinformation

Equality Labs strives to shine a light on disinformation campaigns across the globe.

We advocate for strong cultural context, deeper understanding, questioning claims, nuance as well as meaning, and disinformation awareness. We conduct research, monitor media platforms, and educate the public about the prevalence and impact of disinformation targeting Dalits as well as other marginalized communities. By raising awareness, we empower individuals to critically evaluate information they see online and offline in order to make informed decisions. Our diverse team of experts rigorously fact-checks information related to Dalits and beyond, to expose falsehoods and ensure the truth is widely known.

We collaborate with media organizations, politicians, academia, and civil society to promote accurate reporting and challenge misinformation. For further reading on the topic of disinformation, please view our report from 2020 entitled Coronajihad.
